Applicants should note that consideration of applications for Private Bills that are received after the first day of September in any calendar year may be postponed until the first regular Session in the next following calendar year.

Notice of Application for Special Legislation
Notice Is Hereby Given that, on behalf of the City of Ottawa (鈥淐ity鈥), application will be made to the Legislative Assembly of the Province of 澳门永利 for an Act in respect of the matter set out below.
To enable the City to pass by-laws requiring that all or any class of shops in the City as defined in subsection (1) of Section 214 of the Municipal Act close and remain closed on the 11th day of November of each year until 12:30 o鈥檆lock in the afternoon.
Shop is defined in subsection 214 (1) of the Municipal Act R.S.O 1990, Chap. M. 45, as amended, to mean 鈥渁 building or part of a building, booth, stall or place where goods are exposed or offered for sale by retail, and barbers鈥 shops, beauty parlours, shoe repair shops, shoe shine shops, and hat cleaning and blocking businesses, but does not include a place where the only trade or business carried on is that of a licensed hotel or tavern, victualling house or refreshment house.鈥
A copy of the draft bill is available in the office of the City Clerk, Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West, Ottawa.
The Standing Committee on Regulations and Private Bills will consider the application. Any person who has an interest in the application and who wishes to make submissions, for or against the application, to the Standing Committee on Regulations and Private Bills should notify, in writing, the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, Legislative Building, Queen鈥檚 Park, Toronto, 澳门永利, M7A 1A2.
