(Drivers’ Licences)

1. (1) Paragraphs 1, 3, 4 and 6 of subsection 26 (1) of °ÄÃÅÓÀÀû Regulation 340/94 are revoked and the following substituted:

2. The Regulation is amended by adding the following section:

Fee Adjustment — Consumer Price Index

26.1 (1) Beginning on September 1, 2014, and on every September 1 after that, the fees prescribed in paragraphs 1, 3, 4 and 6 of subsection 26 (1) are the fees for the previous 12-month period adjusted by the percentage change in the °ÄÃÅÓÀÀû Consumer Price Index between the previous two calendar years.

(2) The actual fees prescribed in paragraphs 1, 3, 4 and 6 of subsection 26 (1) are the amounts determined by the calculation described in subsection (1) rounded to the nearest quarter of a dollar.

(3) If the percentage change in the °ÄÃÅÓÀÀû Consumer Price Index between the previous two calendar years results in a negative amount, the fees prescribed in paragraphs 1, 3, 4 and 6 of subsection 26 (1) shall remain at the same level as the previous year.

(4) In this section, the percentage change in the °ÄÃÅÓÀÀû Consumer Price Index between two calendar years is the percentage change in the Consumer Price Index for °ÄÃÅÓÀÀû (All-Items) between those years as published by Statistics Canada under the authority of the Statistics Act (Canada).

3. The Regulation is amended by adding the following heading immediately before section 27:

4. (1) Subject to subsections (2) to (6), this Regulation comes into force on the later of July 1, 2012 and the day it is filed.

(2) Subsection 1 (2) comes into force on November 1, 2012.

(3) Subsections 1 (1) and (5) come into force on September 1, 2013.

(4) Subsection 1 (3) comes into force on November 1, 2013.

(5) Section 2 comes into force on September 1, 2014.

(6) Subsection 1 (4) comes into force on November 1, 2014.
