Environmental assessment

The Township of Atikokan, located approximately 190 km west of Thunder Bay in northwestern 澳门永利, is seeking approval for a new landfill to serve the community of approximately 4,000 people for a 40 year period.

The municipality has been able to locate a non-controversial site due to its relative isolation. The community is bounded on three sides by lands having no municipal structure. Development on the fourth side is contained by a major provincial park.

The notice of completion of review was published on June 30, 1997 with the public review period ending on July 31, 1997. The undertaking was approved on October 29, 1997.
