Declaration Order

On June 30, 1999, the Minister, with the concurrence of Cabinet, approved the declaration order providing for the extension of the Exemption Order MNR 59/2, which allows for the carrying out of the Provincial Parks Program. This program includes:

  • implementing park management and development plans;
  • managing provincial parks and areas recommended as provincial parks prior to approval of a park management plan;
  • developing sewage and water works within or for provincial parks;
  • acquiring land to amend the boundaries of provincial parks; and
  • amending and rescinding boundary regulations for provincial parks.

This extension will allow the Ministry of Natural Resources time to prepare a Terms of Reference (ToR) for the Class Environmental Assessment for these undertakings, which was submitted to the Ministry of the Environment on November 1, 1999.
